Inspiration Point

We were going to hike Mt. Baldy today but couldn't due to rain we had here yesterday and thus snow, and I mean SNOW, that is up there now. On a scale of 1-10, I was at an 8 for sadness over not hiking it. Others ranged from a 1-4 on the disappointment factor. Good thing we had another plan up our sleeves. So instead we hiked to Inspiration Point in the lower San Gabriels. The drive was super pretty..seeing the foothills and then the towering high San Gabriel mountains. LOVED IT.

Now, it was chilly and while we hiked that was an awesome bonus. Great. However, once we got to Inspiration Point, the sun left us and the wind joined us and it was COLD -towards freezing. The boys found someone's abandoned half filled gatorade as a treat up there though and they enjoyed that. There were scopes all lined up, pointed at particular sights like Catalina Island, the Rose Bowl, etc. but it was too cloudy to see. Third time up here for Eliz and the visibility hasn't been good any of the times. Shucks.
