a beautiful day for a trip to...

THE GETTY!
Mandy promised to go to the Getty with me 4.5 years ago..and today we finally seized the opportunity. We went on an architectural tour which was oh-so informative and we strolled around the gardens, hung out on the patio, and looked at some paintings and photography galleries. What was cool, was the fact that even though there have been storm clouds around our area for the last few days, near the Getty, there were clear skies. There was a visible line of dark storm clouds to clear skies.. and that was just really neat.

Upon arrival:

Working on my artsy photo-skills by using the macro setting on my camera... I love these poppies!

The Getty itself...

Time in the gardens

Ok. now... this is called reflective architecture because it mirrors the surrounding hills with the wave-like patterns in the aluminum siding... below this was the glaze ..aka- glass (I think people just like fancy jargon!)

How fun, Ang! When I visited Christine my sophomore year in high school we went there, so it's fun to be able to imagine where you were! And good poppy picture... :)
