GOOD Friday

here we are continuing our Israel tour...

Here are the steps again that Jesus was taken up Thursday to the High Priest Caiaphas' house, and then taken down Friday morning to go to Pilate's.
Side note- this is the Potter's field nearby where the religious leaders later used Judas' returned blood money and bought this land for burial of the poor. It's still a field today with caves and sheep and goats grazing on it. Our tour guide, named Aladin :), used to play here as a child...
Later on, on Friday, Jesus was led to Calvary/Golgotha through the crowded streets of Jerusalem.. Via De la Rosa.. We walked through the narrow streets up to what is now the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the area where Jesus was crucified.
This is the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Very large and very crowded

There is an alter here, and a brass ringed hole to touch the rock base of Calvary. This was a bit harder to sense what it would have been like during the time of Jesus... just so developed with buildings covering everything...
Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice for us on that day
