Today in my Sunday school class the kids made palm branches out of construction paper and tongue depressors and we recreated the triumphal entry when Jesus rode on a donkey down the Mount of Olives into the city of Jerusalem. We shouted, "Hosanna, Hosanna!" I also retold the cute, cute, CUTE story to a few people today of my nephew Soren this year shouting, "Lasagna, lasagna!" when reenacting the triumphal entry at his church. :)
Anyhow, I've been thinking a lot lately about the trip I took to Israel two years ago. Thinking back to the sights we saw around Jerusalem and Galilee, and realizing that while they are merely places, places that look completely different than while Jesus was there, they help me picture and understand the events more clearly. SO... here are pictures from when we were there! The first one is from up on the Mount of Olives looking east towards the city of Jerusalem- where you can see the temple too. To the right you see a wall and over that is where the road for the triumphal entry was/is... The tombs are Jewish coffins all facing east in hopes of the Messiah (he/Jesus has already come!)
